Part documentary, part video essay, this film tells a story about Yetta Ballenberg, the first Jew in the narrator's family to leave Europe for America in the 19th century. The film explores the place Yetta lived and left, in southwest Germany, but also explores themes of place, not only for Jews but for any group who has effectively always already been without an exact home.
